Batman Joker

In 1940, the collaborative team of Batman creator Bob Kane, co-creator Bill Finger and writer Jerry Robinson conceived a villain that would haunt the Caped Crusader for over half a century. A photograph of actor Conrad Veidt in the 1928 silent film The Man Who Laughs and a joker playing card reportedly inspired the men to create the master criminal and introduce him in "Batman #1." The Joker was a mass-murdering misfit who possessed a chalk-white face, fluorescent green hair and a set of bright red lips that caressed his broad, evil smile. But following the 1954 creation of the Comics Code Authority, introduced in the United States to regulate comic books, the Joker character slowly lost his criminal credentials and essentially disappeared from the Batman comics in the mid-'60s.

Batman Animated Series

Batman: The Animated Series (often shortened Batman: TAS or BTAS) is an American, two time Emmy Award[1][2] winning animated series adaptation of the comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero, Batman.

The visual style of the series is based on the artwork of producer Bruce Timm. The original episodes, produced by Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, and Eric Radomski, were first aired on the Fox Network from 1992 to 1995. When the first season of the series aired on weekday afternoons, it lacked an on-screen title but was officially titled Batman: The Animated Series, as evidenced in promotional advertisements for the series. When its timeslot was moved to weekends (on some Fox channels) for the second season, it was named The Adventures of Batman & Robin, a title originally used in the 1969-70 animated series created by Filmation, to emphasize the crime fighting partnership of the characters and allow younger audiences to become more familiar with Robin, who would shortly afterwards feature in the 1995 film Batman Forever.

Superman Cartoon Movie

Superman: The Animated Series is the unofficial title of a Warner Bros.' American animated television series that ran from 1996 to 2000. The official title of the series was simply Superman and starred the fictional character of the same name. Warner Bros. applied the same "more modern, more serious" animated treatment to DC Comics' flagship character in the same way they had successfully produced Batman: The Animated Series. Both shows had no logo. Slightly edited reruns can currently be seen weekday evenings at 7/6c on Toon Disney (in spite of Warner's rivalry with Disney). The show will also be on the new Disney XD (Toon Disney's successor) on February, 2009.

Superman Cartoon

First there was the comic book Action Comics but before even Kirk Alyn took off into the wild blue yonder there was Max and Dave Fleischer's Superman cartoon shorts shown before movie features in the early forties. No one would even come close to the quality of these cartoons until the 1990's Superman the Animated Series.

Having witnessed the death of the live action Superman actor, George Reeves, the sixties would once again see an animated Superman. This cartoon would be on Saturday mornings instead of movie screens. Not great on animation but not without its fans due to its campy fun quality. This Superman cartoon premiered on CBS in 1966 as The New Adventures of Superman. The show was renamed The Superman-Aquaman Hour of Adventure in the second season and renamed again in the third season as the The Batman-Superman Hour. Superman was voiced by the same actor who did the radio show earlier, Clayton "Bud" Collyer. These cartoons also consisted of Superboy and Krypto cartoons. These cartoons are now seen on the Boomerang Cartoon Network, a spin-off of the Cartoon Network. Usually the show runs on Sunday afternoons on the Superman Batman Hour which also includes episodes of Superman.
