Bugs Bunny Tattoos
Previously unheard of, today it is common for tattoo artists to offer popular cartoon characters as a tattoo design. Looney Toons characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are especially popular, as are Disney creations like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Tinkerbell. Of course these characters are all copyrighted and/or trademarked by their respective owners, making it technically illegal for the tattoo artist to apply them unless they have permission (usually in the form of licensing) from the owner of the copyright. So, you can't always just walk into a tattoo shop and ask the artist to give you a Speedy Gonzales or Heckle & Jeckell on your tush. Then again, it all depends on how worried the artist is that he might get into trouble. The FBI is probably a little to busy to be monitoring every tattoo parlor for copyright infringement.

According to his biography Bugs Bunny: 50 Years and Only One Grey Hare, he was "born" in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York and the product of many creators: Ben "Bugs" Hardaway (who created a prototypical version of Bugs Bunny known around Termite Terrace as Bugs' Bunny) Bob Clampett, Tex Avery (who directed A Wild Hare, considered Bugs' formal film debut), Robert McKimson (who created the definitive Bugs Bunny character design), Chuck Jones, and Friz Freleng.

* Birthplace: The Movies
* Best Known As: Carrot-munching animated star
Along with Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny was the most enduring American cartoon character of the 20th century. The acknowledged star of the Warner Brothers cartoon menagerie, Bugs was a cocky, wisecracking, good-hearted hare who battled Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck and other slapstick nemeses in dozens of animated short films. Bugs's debut as a star was the 1940 short A Wild Hare, where he first uttered his trademark line, "What's up, Doc?" Credit for the Bugs Bunny character generally goes to Tex Avery, who developed a preliminary character created by fellow animator Ben "Bugs" Hardaway. (Many of the later Bugs Bunny cartoons were directed by Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones; the voice of Bugs was provided by Mel Blanc.) The shorts remain popular in TV reruns.
